Cozy @ Home: A Treat Waits on the Counter

Sometimes, I get a little melancholy...when I think about how fast time is going, like a train.

My youngest is fifteen.

Soon, he won't look for goodies on the counter when he gets home from school.

And so, I get to work...
So that when he walks in the house, it smells good.

"What did you bake?"  says he.

"CUPCAKES!"

"They're for you!"

It's not much, didn't take too long, but hopefully, it's remembered.

This boy doesn't get all excited about the raspberry gumdrops on top, shoot, he doesn't even care if they're frosted (whose kid is he?!), he just gobbles some up.

I like to make him treats every now and then....

After all, in my math, FOOD = LOVE.

I know exactly how you feel...my dd will be 18 this year and I remember my FIL telling me when she went to kindergarten that before you know it she'll be graduating...

I don't think they ever out grow this, but if he does just think someday you will have grandchildren that will do the same, ours do. They expect Grandma to have special treats when they come.

I'll bet he appreciates it more than he says. Teenagers are often less communicative than we would like, but how could all that love baked up just for him not be noticed?

I agree. We have one home for a few days that is 20 and an 18 year old that is getting ready to fly the coop. I got up early to make muffins for breakfast with just those same thoughts this morning. It's just one of the special ways we mom's show our love. I will miss it. Blessings.

His Uncle Ken likes cupcakes without frosting, too, and sometimes Katie does as well. I just like cupcakes! I'm feeling a little sad today as it's my babies' last day to be thirteen!
