No More Place Mats for Me!

Back when I showed you this old farmhouse that inspired me so, I noticed that the table was set and that they had used napkins or dishtowels in place of place mats.

What a great idea! Napkins and dishtowels are so much easier to wash and they're easier to store.

So, I've done away with place mats around here after the sets I have are worn out. (I got a real cute set of place mats from my neighbor for Christmas that I can't wait to use!)

I have this old granny-chic dishpan in cheerful white and red holding my gingham napkins that double as place mats! I can also grab them when it's time to line the basket for rolls and we can use them as napkins when we put the matching tablecloth on for company.

I have several kinds and they're just so happy looking just sitting on the table, don't you think?

Thanks to Ruthie over at Sugar Pie Farmhouse, I found the perfect napkins for what I wanted! Don'tcha just love your bloggy neighbors?

I love this idea with the napkins, those placemats are hard to keep clean and some of the ones I like are 9.99 for one placemat. I may order some of these looks so fresh and crisp for spring! I enjoyed looking at that farmhouse, this is the style that I'm aspriring for!
