Yes, it's a male cardinal. I took that photo with my zoom lens yesterday afternoon during a snow squall that dropped an inch or two. There were many in the tree waiting it out, but they saw my movement through the window and most of them flew away. This was the only photo I got to turn out! I love these birds, they cheer up the landscape, and my husband feeds the birds many pounds a month! I've felt so sorry for them this snowy winter that I even put out apple peels, potato peels, anything that they can eat.
