Vintage Finds: Embroidery Work on Gingham

In the vintage enamelware bowl: a pitcher from TJ Maxx for around $10 and some artificial lemons.

I found this beauty a year or so ago at a garage sale.

I absolutely adore the daisy embroidery done on a piece of gingham.

Someone thought outside the box!

It's done in just my colors...and are so cheery and bright, such fine needlework, too.  Perfect for summer.  Farmhouse style, for sure!  Another piece rescued and saved.

I am ALWAYS amazed at the happiness I can find on a dusty table or an old box, for a dollar, or even a quarter, if I'm willing to dig.

What do you enjoy searching for when you're out treasure hunting at a garage sale?

Your embroidered scarf is beautiful! And I feel the same way as you do when I find a doily or scarf that some worked their heart and stitches into: "Another piece rescued and saved."
Have a great week!

Love the embroidery on gingham. I also love finding a treasure that someone discarded. I feel like I'm giving it a new "life" and feel sure that the creator of the item would be pleased. I have so many of these finds in my home, and have given even more to someone who love them.

Some of my favorites are counted cross stitch or needlepoint pictures. I found a a framed needlepoint picture of a 1909 Cadillac with a letter to the recipient stating that his father owned a 1909 Cadillac and that inspired the gift. Maybe the recipient didn't treasure it, but I do!

Oh, this is so cute. What a delightful find! Heart and soul go into handiwork like this; in fact, if we do as the Word of God tells us and do ALL things as unto the Lord, we do more than create: we bless Him. I love your posts. They are a refreshing breeze in these hot days. Relief is on the way down here in NC. Rain, lots of it, and cooler temps are on the way right now.

That is beautiful. Love love the daisy on the gingham think I might try and make me one. You find some awesome stuff where you live. I did find a chenille vintage bedspread at goodwill for $12.00. It is beautiful only 1 little pull on it no rips or stains at all I was jumping up and down on that one. I so love anything vintage sometimes I think I was born in the wrong time. Hugs sent your way to you and your family.

Cute tablecloth and a definite plus to find something like that. I look for old table linens and a certain type of dishes that I already have but would like a few more pieces.

Love the little gingham tablecloth, so cute! I love me some garage sales too. Just this past week I happened across one that was full of old "junk." It was just piled up, in boxes and bags, dusty and dirty - I loved it! I had so much fun rummaging around for treasures. And I did manage to find a few. You check them out if you like: http://thecozyoldfarmhouse.blogspot.com/2012/07/fun-friday-finds-5.html

Have a great week! Thankfully it's seems to be cooling off a bit this week.

Old kitchen stuff, especially in "that" green from the thirties/forties, always catches my eye. I'm also a sucker for yellow. I really love your tablecloth...if I wasn't so addicted to the green, I'd have a blue kitchen!

I also love garage sales, as well as auctions and thrift stores. In fact, I got an amazing buy at an auction yesterday: all the tools for making lefse for less than 20% of the price for new ones.
