Just Roll With It! How Hot!?

Is it HOT enough for ya?

Now I know you guys have been sweatin' this summer out.

Hotter than a firecracker, that's what it is...

We done had August in June!

Michigan isn't supposed to swelter like this.
We aren't made for it!  Not weeks of it, anyway!

Last night my quilt was on the line, and once again it was sunset and what a pretty picture it might have been.

Except for the condensation that formed on my lens the minute I walked out the door.  I waited a few minutes, but the sunset wasn't going to wait...so I shot anyhow.

I guess the seventies inside the air-conditioning (smartest thing we ever did with a tax return!) didn't like to meet the high nineties in the outdoors.

I just roll with it.  I shot anyway.

This is what I had to work with, and like I've always told you, extreme weather can sometimes make some of the prettiest darn pictures you ever did see!

Take it easy in this heat.  I love a Popsicle every now and again...how about you?

Now just how red-hot is it where you're at?

Near a hundred here for days now for us...

It is the same here in Iowa. At least we have AC. There are those that do not so I feel very fortunate.
With this weather you can almost see the tomatoes grow.
Love the pictures. j

Joni Girl, It is hot, Hot, HOT here in your neighbors back 40's too. I'm in N Central WI and the heat index has been near 105...crazy weather. We swim in spring fed lakes that always are naturally cold, but have been like bathwater...a reprieve this weekend, and back in the 70's will feel great.
My sheets hung out all afternoon yesterday, and came in damp, had to use the dryer anyway...grrr

In Northern Colorado, we had the hottest June in recorded history. Day after day of weather in the 100's. One day it reached 106 which is NOT normal for Colorado.
July is not much better.
Stay cool!

Gorgeous photo! Here in Wisconsin we've been roasting alive too...yesterday it was 104 degrees. It's also been super dry...we haven't had rain in almost two months. Our central AC was a godsend, until it died yesterday. I think today I will have to find someone with a swimming pool!

I love your quilts Joni; always love seeing your photos of them!
In the PNW, we have had one of the wettest June's on record and it hasn't been too hot either. However, true to form--we are now past July 4th and our weather is getting hotter now. I am very grateful for our air conditioning as I am hyper sensitive to heat, especially since I had heat exhaustion some time ago.
I pray that you and all of your visitors who are suffering in this abnormal heat will soon get some relief.
Blessings,
Aimee

Joni, we've been at 113 already, today, and it's only 1:05 p.m. We've only had 1/2 inch of measurable rainfall since March. The pastures have dried up, we're selling cattle and hauling water to a neighbor's chicken houses for their cool cells. Animals, both farm and wild, are hungry, grasshoppers are overly abundant; however, we do still have electricity for AC. God will provide ~~~

I was in Dearborn today and it was 106!
This has been unbelievable!
glad when it is cooler.
We had air put in last year and so glad we did.
Enjoy your evening!

I thought we weren't suppose to have this kind of heat--protected by the Great Lakes and all--my poor sister--just moved into the Centennial Farmhouse and got a window air conditioner, but then--power went out for 3 days. I was afraid she might move back to her lovely home in NY, but she said, "I'm in it for the long haul". I'll bet the first thing they purchase for the renovation will be a new furance and A/C.

Love your photos! I love how the high line looks like a cross.
I always enjoy coming here to your lovely blog. Political, religious views, photography, quilts, food, and common sense. Love it!

Hi, Joni! Here in Eastern NC on the Pamlico River, it was 100 with heat index up near 110. That's called summer in the South. I know you guys are suffering, too. Maybe the break will come soon. I've read your blog for over a year but don't think I've ever posted. (Shy) Your pics are great, and I LOVE your conservative views and rants. Have you heard my cheering? Carry on. Great pictures - by skill or luck!
