Vintage Finds: Ironing Table Made Sofa Table

Not long ago, I bought this vintage ironing table.
It is very sturdy and has a nice finish on it.
I needed for a prop for my niece's vintage housewife bridal shower.

I had been racking my brain for something to put behind my sofa, that by necessity must back up to a large window in the living room.  I never could find the right thing.  I've tried stools. plant stands, but none of those items would hold the sofa away from the window, which I needed so our dogs wouldn't have their noses all over the windows.

Suddenly, today, as I was watching the news, it occurred to me that my old ironing board was the right size, the right height and just narrow enough to do the trick!  Why did it take me so long to think of it?!

So I brought it in, dusted it off, and set it up.  It's perfect!  It cost me nothing, I shopped my house!  And, don't you think it's "farmhouse perfect"?

The best thing about vintage finds like this?
You guessed it, made in the USA!

Brilliamt!!! I almost bought one like that a couple of years ago and I'm still kicking myself that I didn't snatch it up!

Perfect!

I found one a couple of years ago, but it wasn't in good shape like yours!

PERFECT! I love it! Very appropriatly placed. I once painted an old wooden ironing board into a Santa Claus for a friend. I should do one for myself. Thanks for the reminder.

I have one too, but it's pretty rickety, and I don't use it for anything. I like your idea and the way it works. My top isn't nearly as pretty as yours.

Oh my gosh! While you've been racking your brain looking for something to put behind your sofa, I've been racking my brain about where to put the antique ironing board that I have just like yours. Had it for years and don't know what to do with it, but I do now! It's going behind my love seat. It will be secure there, too. Thank you!

I have one of those ironing boards. I've run out of room in my house to put it. I've tried selling it for as little as $10 and can't seem to give it away!
