Yesterday was Levi's Vintage Toy Baby Shower...it was a beautiful day, and a beautiful celebration of a little guy that is MUCH LOVED. Many family members and friends helped to make it possible, and I thank them very much for their HELP! It was all so nice what you all did and I so appreciate it!
This party was a lot of fun to make plans for. I knew right away the theme would be vintage toys...my own kids' vintage toys, retrieved from the attic and cleaned up and then a few finds from garage sale to finish out the look: mainly the letter blocks and the wooden building blocks.
Today we'll take a quick look at all the decorations and the cake, which was a beautiful work of art in itself, done by my niece, Autumn. She is a self-taught cake decorator and I think she said this was her third cake, you will never believe that when you see her cake!
Photo credits are all to my niece Katie, I handed her my camera and she went to town. She's only thirteen! I think she's got talent! (Click any photo to enlarge.)
What fun it was to see the old toys my kids played with once again!
A play table set up just for the kids...with Crayons, coloring books, and mini-play dough as well as toys and books.
Here is sweet Autumn, finishing up her masterpiece...
Can you believe this??
What an artist!!
The whole table for the cake was just so sweet....click for a better view.
My grand niece McKenzie, tried out the toys and we wouldn't know what to do at a shower without this sweet little lady...who only yesterday was a baby herself and starts kindergarten this fall!
My sister Mary made these cuppycakes with pinwheels on top! Aren't they the cutest things in the little red wagon?
Words and phrases made from the letter blocks were scattered around the tables.

Join me later this week for more FUN BABY SHOWER photos!
Meanwhile, we're all enjoying spending time with my daughter, her son and husband...
this time with family is so precious.

So cute, and the cake was amazing. Did you actually cut it?
What a fabulous shower with all the vintage toys of which I have also. Your niece did an outstanding job on the cake , OH MY! She has a bright future...look out Cake Boss! I just did a wedding cake that I posted. Lots of work for an old lady who has not done a cake for a dozen yrs.

Great shower and gorgeous cake!
I used to have that Fischer-Price Barn when I was a girl!
I wish my mom had kept all our old toys; they'd be worth something now!

I thought vintage meant metal? That's how old I am...grin.
Cute shower.
How very cute everything is! I would not have wanted to cut that cake!
What a fun shower, with an adorable theme. I had fun with the toys, my kids had most of these Fischer Price Toys, which I gave away and wish I'd kept! but, best of all we got to meet Baby Levi, see his beautiful Mama Jamie, and laugh with her hilarious husband. I had such fun seeing the cousins talk and laugh and hold the baby! I know Autumn and Katie were as excited as I was to see you all and meet the new addition. {HUGS}
love the shower. I did my daughter's shower a lot the same with the vintage toys. great job! going to look around your blog some more. Lezlee

Love your whole blog makeover and all the gorgeous pics! You made me want to go hang quilts out to dry ~ THANKS! Now I'm off to enjoy some more exploring here as I sip my coffee. :-)
I remember so many of these things from when I was a kid. That cake is divine - yes she is definitely very, very talented. I'm amazed (and jealous).
