Retro Cowboy Nursery--updates

We're still waitin' on little cowboy to make his appearance...
He's taking his sweet time, but we'll wait!
Remember the retro cowboy nursery we worked on for our grandson in April?

Well, while we're waitin', we've been doing some tweakin'....
the nursery had room for a few little touches to make it ready.
All the clothes and bedding are washed.
The changing table is loaded up with all the necessities.
It's all mopped and dusted.

But since you last saw it, there have been a few additions...

Git along, lil' doggie!

Baby needed a mobile, but not just any old one would do. It had to fit...we couldn't have elephants and giraffes, could we?!

Nana ordered this little crib mobile from--believe it or not--AMAZON.COM. It's as sweet as can be and quite fittin', indeed, for this baby. He already has doggies, real live ones, but he needs his little buddies in the crib! These doggies are as soft as can be and the music that plays is "How much is that doggie in the window?". Oh. My.

...And while we're on the subject of little doggies...

This little bathrobe has doggie paw prints all over,
is it not the sweetest thing ever?

And the little cowboy already has a few toys, so Nana has some "toyboxes" for his little toys, brought from Michigan, they're little "ammo" boxes, one for bee bees and another for shells.

We just lined the ammo boxes with some shelf liner and they're ready to serve in their new job.

These will do for baby's tiny little toys, but what about his big ones?

What works for a cowboy room?

An old woodbox, that's what!
It happens to be big and roomy and no lid to fall on a toddler's head.

It works out just fine and fits right in.

And that's the news from the nursery...for now!!

How wonderful this beautiful nursery is! I love every little detail, and so much love and labor has gone into it. This precious little baby from heaven that's soon to be here is so blessed to have such a wonderful nana and family.

That is so cute! I agree - so much love has gone into it. This will be one lucky little cowboy! It makes me think of (one of my favorite singers) James Taylor's song Sweet Baby James.
