On A Chilly Fall Morning...

On a chilly fall morning,
after the family has all gone in
their different directions;

to their work or to school,
I sit. But.
Just for a minute.
To enjoy the start
of another new day, a new week.
Curled up in a chair,
in a warm, soft robe...
Holding a steaming mug of coffee,
listening to the quiet,
hearing these few minutes of my life go by
with the ticking of the clock,
taking a moment to admire the beauty in
a snoozing pair of dogs,
and that foggy fall scene just outside our window,
alone with my thoughts,
and breathing a silent prayer of thanks,
for all that I've been given.
I'm grateful, Lord for another new, fresh, unused day,
full of possibilities...
a gift you've given to us once again,
thank you for all of your blessings.
It was nice to start the day with
a quiet moment with You.

*I don't get to start all my mornings off in peace and tranquility, but when I can, it's a treat to listen to and be quiet...

now that my kids are mostly grown up, i get to spend a LOT of mornings just like this! i love being the 1st one up, and have my quiet time with the Lord. as much as i love being around folks, early mornings is my time of solitude and i love it!!!

What a beautiful way to start the day! I start mine with a cup of coffee...in front of the computer! Well I HAVE to see what YOU'RE all up to!!

Thanks for sharing your morning. Now that my youngest is in school I have some mornings like that...except I drink hot tea : )
I have a wren singing up a storm this morning! It's a nice gentle reminder of how He cares for the birds of the air, than how much more does He love and care for me.

Looks like we will be moving to FL in about 5 weeks!

Even the dog and cat seem to enjoy this time of day most! God will give us those rare quiet times if we seek them and they are special. Thanks for sharing how you spend yours. Sue
