A Bright Easter...

This was my first Easter at home with the new color scheme in the main area of our farmhouse.  Before, Easter was always a pastel table.

It was a challenge to set the table with these colors, but thanks to some bright daffodils, we brought spring inside and had a bright and very beautiful setting...

...and although more casual than what I once would have done, I enjoyed the ease and simplicity.

Who knew daffodils were so aromatic?  I'd never cut any of my own to bring in for the table before--I will do more cutting, they are wonderful.  (And, I thought they looked right at home with the little chicken.)

Our dinner after church was the traditional one of ham (a wonderful one from the neighbor's hog!) and all the fixin's....the best part?

Leftovers.

:0)

Bright skies and sunshine and warm temps were here for Saturday, which was absolutely wonderful.  For Sunday, we had mild temps and clouds, which I'll take--anything is better than dark, damp and cold like's it's been for two weeks!

How was your Easter?

loved your table setting. You can't go wrong with red check in my book. Just love the simplicity and the cozy look the red checks bring to any setting. With the little chicks and flowers , just perfect. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.

All that red!! Love it!! We did have a good Easter, although we were under a tornado watch most of the day and had lots of rain. We played Farm-opoly after lunch and had a great, loud, time. I enjoy your posts so much!

Very nice! I've just found you, and I love your blog decor, as well as your table! I will be following you now that I've discovered you! When I saw you "laundry flapping in the breeze" photo, I thought of one of my blog entries. Will add it below for you to look at if you like! I went for the informal look this year too. I love your red and white.
My table was set with Fiesta ware in navy, yellow and white, with a navy tablecloth and navy and white check napkins, and red wine colored candles. I would love to have the red plates, but can't find an excuse to buy and more dishes!

I love your house!

Your Easter table is adorable. I didn't even make pictures of our table. By the time we all brought something we had quite a spread. Our pictures were all made outside of family. Come over to my blog for a visit and meet my family. :-)

What a cheerful, fresh table set for spring with the sunny daffodils and farmfresh checks! I am glad you made memories with your loved ones on Easter Sunday. Even though you couldn't spend the day with your daughter, son-in-law and sweet little grandbaby, you showed your sons and your hubby that you value your time spent with them. Keep on making wonderful memories; the opportunities to do so are such a blessing!
