Vintage Finds: The Places You'll GO!

Earlier this spring, I found this adorable little child's chair for $1 so I snapped it up, couldn't believe it was still sitting for sale in the afternoon of a neighborhood sale.

I used it for display earlier this year at the baby shower I helped to give for my grandson, and then brought it home and put it in the box it came from.

Last week, I pulled it out again, and decided it would make the perfect easel for this picture I shot of my niece years ago.

Don't you think it makes the perfect easel for this little beauty?

Such fun, and all for $1, and its life at my house has only just begun!

Oh, the places you'll go...little chair, the places you'll go!

While you're here, bloggy neighbors, I'm leanin' over the fence, asking....

if anyone has made their own fabric roller shades (using a kit?) I'd love to hear your opinion on how they turned out. I have window issues right now, and I'm thinking I might like to go with these...let me know your thoughts and if you have any advice or tips on how to best make them.

On the docket for this sunny, warm fall day, among other things is decorating for fall. We got all the stuff out of the barn for the porch last night, the pumpkins are picked, I bought some mums from a farmer, and I have to go to the garden and get some corn shocks made...straw will be brought home by Mr. Farmhouse.

It's one of my favorite things to do each year: decorate the yard for fall. How about you?

What do you have to do today?

Slendid idea... love it!

I have not tried the shade making thing, however, have thought about it.

Love... to decorate my yard with straw, corn stalks, scare crows, and pumpkins also... If it ever dries out up here, I will venture out for some stalks (skunks, got my corn again this year) and possibly straw.

It has been YEARS ago but I did make 2 shades with the kit. It was very simple. Just iron the fabric to the shade backing, roll it on the wood roller and voila! a shade. At least that is the way I did it years ago if the kits have not changed any.
