Salsa Redux....

One more go-round with a huge bushel-basketful of tomatoes, a knife, hot steaming kettles of water, all that goes with turning this into something usable.

A neighbor recently called and ask if I'd like her jars, (OH YES!) so today I went out to the garden to see what I could glean from the pathetic looking tomato plants. Well surprisingly this late in September....there was well over a bushel so guess what I will be doing today?

I found this set of potholders at the dimestore yesterday, and I don't know why, but these lil' roosters make me smile! I'll break them in today.

What are you up to?

I see you are putting good use to that new kitchen:>) My tomatoes got some kind of blight. Lots of tomatoes, but they never ripened and the leaves just wilted and died. So I have some green tomatoes but a lot of them have what look like rotten bites out of them.:>( I was so disappointed. My roma's did ok, but they aren't really good for fresh eating.

I too am doing tomatoes again today.
Mr. T thinks we have enough juice in the freezer but one can never have too much.I also baked a pumpkin today. It is time for pumpkin bread or bars so I will do it the old fashioned way.

There is no pumpkin to be had at the stores.A pumpkin crop failure they tell me.
I have you on my blog list and read and enjoy each day.

I will be demonstrating spinning wool at the State Fair . Later on this week I will also be canning green beans and tomatoes and making apple pies! God has provided ample harvest here so can't waste it. I see you don't waste your harvest either.
