Knowing Me....

Knowing me...

Someone was right to give me this old metal thermometer...

Because he knows me so well and vintage stuff is my thing, I'm glad my brother saved this from the junk pile and gave it to me. It's one of the best kinds of gifts.

This makes me miss our old barn, because it would have looked perfect hanging there. But alas, the old is gone. So. As soon as spring comes, we're going to get some rivets and some rubber grommets and it's going on front of the new pole barn.

After all, it needs to look old and it's too big so I can't stain it, can't hire Parisienne Farmgirl to faux paint it, so why not adorn it?

I LOVE IT!!!!!
(Thank you big brother!)

Oh, and one of the nice things about today is the sunshine evident in these photos!

And one more really good thing?

I went to the orthopaedist who fixed my ankle when I needed surgery back when I was pregnant for Luke. He told me that only my toe was broken, NOT my foot, and that no surgery, cast or other special treatment was needed. YAY! He said that it was a slight overreaction or exaggeration on the part of my general practitioner.

I'm sure she was trying to hope for the best but prepare me for the worst. I'm just glad that the news was best. I should be back to normal within a month barring any unforeseen problems.
I am so thankful!!

What wonderful news! Bet if you could you'd be jumpin' for joy! Soon, though, you'll be on the mend. Love the thermometer, it'll look great on your barn, or what about doing an inside wall of the barn full of your old metal signs? Either way, this is a great addition.
