"Thumbing" through my digital photo files, I ran across last summer's peony crop.
Just how could I not share these with you?
Because you need a nice pink smile from a peony bush today, like I do, right?
I'm glad God had a bunch of fun with his creations....I so enjoy the flowers he created: the colors and shapes, the ruffles....
Not many days before I took these photos of the flamin' pink peonies, this little fella startled me just a couple feet from the row of bushes.
He was casually sunning himself and didn't even move when I screamed!
I didn't take the picture, my husband did. I went and told him there was a snake in the garden and he grabbed the camera and ran!
I wouldn't have been able to hold the camera still...the guys clearly appreciate this sort of creation....don't ask me why!
Bugs don't scare me, I'll squash spiders with my fingers if I have to...not much gets to me like a SNAKE!!
Just looking at these as I scroll through the photos make me

YOU AND ME BOTH---why do we dislike them so--snakes---some are really good for the gardens and things---I am working on liking "bugs" and "crawly" things better--after all like you said God made them all!!!
Love the flowers they are one of my favorites!!
hugs, Di
oh my good grief ... shudder is right
Oh how I want that time of the year again! The flowers in bloom and the sun shining!

I LOVE PEONYS, THEY REMIND ME OF MEMORIAL DAY AND MY SWEET SMELLING AUNT! YOU HAVE QUITE A CROP OF THEM TOO! AS FOR THE SNAKE, AT LEAST IT ISN'T A RATTLE SNAKE! BUT I DON'T LIKE THEM EITHER! COME SAY HI :D
Gorgeous pictures! Even the snake one was a nice picture..."did I say that?" But, I'm with ya, I can't stand em either....
Pretty pink! Lovely snake in what looks like his new coat!In our part of the world we live with snakes and spiders, all part of nature's wonders and quite safe.
Oh my, your peonies are soooo beautiful. We can't grow them here in Florida, but they are probably one of my favorite flowers...
As for snakes, for some crazy reason they don't really bother me. I just tell them to go shuu. Now if I saw a rattler or other poisinous snake, that would be a different story.
Awaiting Spring...
Susie
Thank you for the gorgeous flower pictures! I needed that, LOL! And I would have taken a shovel to that snake, not a camera!
THUD!!! That was me falling over when I saw the snake. I'm with Indiana Jones..."SNAKES,I HATE SNAKES!!". LOVE the peonies though. Thanks for injecting some color into my day!!
You have lots of blooms, did you ever dry any of them? They are so pretty dried too. I put a zinnia on my blog today, guess we are all pining away for the flowers. Have a nice weekend.
B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!
Do peonies need full sun?
Wow! Those are Beautiful! I love peonies. Thanks for sharing. Those are good snake pics too, but I don't love snakes. :)
Joni,
Thanks so much for posting 'bout peonies. Your pics are so beautiful I can almost SMELL them! Really needed that today, as I am finally home from work and getting ready to hunker down for this weekend's snowfall.
Gorgeous! Peonies are some of my favorite flowers--especially this color. A couple of questions--how old are your plants? When did you plant them (as in what month)? I planted several year before last and while they all came up last year, only one bloomed. My mother says they won't bloom unless you plant them in August.
Hi Joni,
I have to say, peonies are not my favorite...the flowers are pretty but I'm not crazy about the ants they attract. I like to cut flowers and bring them inside, but I don't like the ants that sneak in with my bouquet. However, as I'm currently watching snow dumping from the skies....... I would have to say those peonies look pretty darn good right now! They really are a pretty display. But the snake....not so pretty!
It has been a loooong winter here. Thanks for brightening my day with a little reminder of spring!
Tammy
ps..love the fence!
I hate snakes too, but I'd dearly love to be sunning myself right now! Thanks for sharing your peonies with us, such wonderful color!
