True and Utter JOY!!!!!!!

Jamie and Thad in Colorado this summer....

Girls...today had to be one of the best days of my whole life. I got a call first thing this morning from my girl...and she excitedly told me that she and her husband were going to have a baby! Oh my goodness, you all know what she's been going through...wow! Such a surprise and a blessing, I just cried happy tears.

When Jamie called to tell her dad, he cried, too. I think I FLOATED for the rest of the day. I couldn't think and was discombobulated for hours. I am SO happy for my girl and her husband and thank God that this day came.

Thad's mom called me today, too and we had a happy mutually congratulatory conversation about our grandchild-to-be! Oh what fun we're going to have!

Now I'm just praying for a healthy grandchild and I know for sure that God hears our prayers.
(Lord, could you make him or her with red hair like the baby's daddy?)

So...what does that make me? Nana? Gamma? Oh, what shall I be?
Sometime next June, I'm gonna need a name!
What do your grandkids call you?

Congratulations!! Grands are the very best. My four call me "MeMe" and my husband "Pappy". No matter what they call you it is the sweetest sound in the whole world!!

Congratulations to you all! Your joy comes through loud and clear in your post. I wanted to be called "grammie", but when my first grandchild called me grandma, it was all over. She calls me Grandma, but her younger brother couldn't say that and so called me Beeba. That's what the rest of them call me now. And my husband is Pa. We have 2 granddaughters and 4 grandsons, and believe me, there's nothing like them!!

Oh, Joni, my cup runneth over. I know exactly how you're feeling right now. The bad news is that this is going to be the longest 9 months of your life - HA!! The good news? THESE are the best days of your life, and more lies ahead.
This has been the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me in my entire life.
I am so incredibly, over the top happy for you. NOW I REALLY WISH WE LIVED CLOSER TOGETHER!! I'd give you a big hug.

As for what I'm called? Happily, unashamedly, simply, "Grandma."

Yeah, and we all know what she's been doing too! -smile-
When I was about 13, I remember thinking "we all know what she's been doing" when I saw a pregnant woman at church. Ah, for those simpler times when a girl was a teenager before she knew the facts of life -smile-.
Congratulations, Grandma; the times they are a-changing for the better!

Congratulations, Grandma! You just had to be a little patient, but now it's your turn. As our family goes, we'll look to get at least one more in the next year to be a "cuz". Maybe it's Mary's turn?? LOL
Everyone said it's the greatest, and I didn't beleive them, but it is!! I'm sure there's a great southern term for "Grandma" that will surface.
How exciting; Congrats, Jamie!!
Love, Grandma Anne
