Farmhouse Country Style

Denise is a new blog friend, over at the adorable "Farmhouse Country Style" and she has the cutest farmhouse sign shop, called Farmhouse Mercantile. I purchased three pieces from her new shop and I've been playin' around with them and thought I'd show you where I put them for now! I would recommend her work to anyone. She says she's working on new designs and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next! I wish for the best for her new venture online! She's got the cutest kitty, too, helping with "selling" those signs!

Other random stuff...
It's velly, velly soggy here. We have had unbelievable amounts of rain and big wind, lightning and thunderstorms.

Night before last, we set up one of those enormous blue INTEX pools, the kind they have at Sam's 16' x 54" with a million pieces of white pipe for the frame, pipe legs, and you hang the liner on it, and a rope surrounds the whole bottom of the outside of the wall, then when the water fills it, the weight of the water holds the pool walls in place. (For the previous ten years, we've always had their huge inflatable ring pools, piece of cake, never a problem!) Anyway, it was up, looked awesome, (the hot weather may come sometime this summer, right?!) and to be safe, we put a few inches of our own water in it, figuring hundreds of pounds of water would hold the pool to the ground until the pool water truck gets here in a day or two. WRONG! We had an early morning thundershower yesterday and I guess the wind decided to pick the whole pool (itself weighing hundreds of pounds) and all the water and the million piece frame up and turn it over and bend it all into a pretzel! WHAT FUN! So...needless to day, yesterday afternoon, before ANOTHER huge thundershower was heading this way, my 13-year-old son and I are out in the yard DECONSTRUCTING this huge thing, laying in a heap on the yard. It's now in the pole barn, and we're waiting to see if we can get PARTS. Now, it's like we don't even WANT the thing! Geesh!

Oh, and MY DAUGHTER IS COMING HOME THIS WEEK!
(Sorry, didn't mean to shout, it's just that I'm happy.) She is coming home for my nieces' wedding next weekend, and even though it's only for a long weekend, I'm THRILLED! I'm planning her favorite meal for the night she gets here and getting the house extra clean, and I can't wait, we saw her in April, but it seems like FOREVER! Last time she was home here was Thanksgiving!

You friend does amazing sign work. I just love those!
Sorry about the pool. We have one just like it. This year we decided to try to level the ground a little better. But with all this rain, we can't get it dry enough to work on.
Don't apologize. I'd be shouting too if my child was coming to visit!

I know you are THRILLED that your daughter is coming home. My oldest only lives about 35 minutes away, but I still scream when I get to see her. It just isn't the same when they don't live at home.

We have one of those pools for a couple of years, but couldn't get the ground level enough to make it really great. We did love it, though, and thought about getting another one this year. I decided to pass since I would be the one taking care of it.

It has been 99 here for the past 3 days and we are needing some of your rain. Please, please, PLEASE send some our way!

Have a wonderful weekend.
