ARE YOU WILLING TO FIGHT FOR YOUR FREEDOM?
All it will cost you is a little time.
Not months of training.
Not a military haircut.
Not leaving your family and your country for weeks, months, or years at a time.
It doesn't require sixty pounds of gear or MRE's.
It doesn't require that you sleep in a foxhole in the mud and snow with rats crawling through.
You won't even have to use or clean a latrine.
It only requires your being willing to peacefully protest.
What is defending the Constitution worth to YOU?
"Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the boisterous sea of liberty."
--Thomas Jefferson

ARE YOU WILLING TO FIGHT FOR YOUR OWN FREEDOM AND THAT OF YOUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN?
Right now, the fight for liberty and independence costs you nothing but some gas, and a bit of money to make a sign, a few hours of time spent holding it with your fellow patriots, and perhaps giving up some time at a barbecue or picnic with family and friends on the Fourth Of July.
IT'S THE LEAST WE CAN DO.

IT'S THE LEAST WE CAN DO.
As you make plans for YOUR JULY FOURTH celebration, think of those generations who will come after us if we let them down in this fight against an out-of-control, overreaching government.
Will future generations be more free or less free than we?
I do not want to let our forefathers down on my watch.
It cost them so much more.
After all, what ARE we to celebrate on July fourth?
INDEPENDENCE?
Or
Dependence?
As you make plans for YOUR FOURTH OF JULY, think about the inconveniences of our soldiers sweating and fighting in the mountains of Afghanistan, the deserts and cities in Iraq and those stationed all around the world presently, and in the history of our country: those mother's sons who have fought in all the wars before these...
FOR US.
What did the SOLDIER sacrifice for ME?
Could it be time for ME to sacrifice for the SOLDIER?
And ask yourself if you really don't need to show up.
Ask yourself: Does my COUNTRY NEED ME?
Are you the "people"? Remember...it's supposed to be this way:
Government FOR the people.
Government OF the people.
Government BY the people.
We owe this and more to those men who spent many sweaty and hot months in Philadelphia hashing out the very definition of FREEDOM and working out the details of our founding documents, and the LIMITS OF GOVERNMENT, all paid for by the men in Washington's ragtag armies...
Will future generations be more free or less free than we?
Compared to the cost of freedom for others who've had to put their very lives on the line for it, I'd say we should be ashamed of ourselves if we waste the freedom given to us so freely if we CHOOSE to not take this sacred, yet simple opportunity (while we are still free) to attend a TEA PARTY to show our government officials our INTENSE DISSATISFACTION with their idea of government.
We need to take a few hours to remind them of what the CONSTITUTION SAYS.
We need to take a few hours to remind them of what the CONSTITUTION SAYS.

EXCELLENT!!! No comment need be made ... TYSM for this. TTFN ~Marydon
Thank-you for this post. I have learned that many of our young and older people truly do not know our country's history and glean all they know of our country from television entertainers and sensationalistic journalism. Not sure what can be done about this.....except to teach or remind those who will listen. Too many of our young people think real hardship is not having the right clothes or latest new gadget. I think we might have to learn all over again the hard way, but will they actually care?
Our oldest son is a Marine who did 2 tours of duty in Iraq, he is very disillusioned about what he sees in this country, as are many of his brothers-in-arms. Kind of helps understand the growing depression and suicides in the military, doesn't it? Again, thank-you.
I posted a note for ALL to view your post (on my blog) ... I say these things all the time, some get it, some don't You deserve an overwhelming applause for this post. Hope you don't mind what I did ... TTFN ~Marydon
Right beside you!!!!
Wonderful post as always!
Both on Memorial Day and again on Flag Day I was utterly shocked at the LACK of American flags flying in my subdivision. What is with us American's? Do people no longer take pride in our country? In a subdivision of some 80 homes, I counted 5 flags, including my own! Pathetic and disgraceful.
Blessings to you from Kansas in the Heartland of America,
Valerie
Great post! I hope we will all do something. I hope we can a least let our govenment officials know how we feel about what they are doing!
God bless, Sharon

I agree with you 100%. We are taking much too much for granted.

Old Glory is always flyin' high at our homestead. Directly underneath we fly Washington's Pine Tree flag which reads "An Appeal To Heaven." Lord knows we need to protect our Constitution and we could really use His help.
God bless... :> )

Beautiful and poignant post! I couldn't have said it better myself!!
Hugs, Cynthia
I wish I could go to a Tea Party on the 4th but I won't be in any physical shape for an outing and in my love recovery period. I sure will be sending in letters though to my representatives and the White House. We are rapidly losing out country and freedoms!
We have never been asked to sacrifice 1/10th of what our forefathers gave. And so many are happy to live the way they do without any thought that our way of life will be gone if we all don't grow a pair and begin WAKING UP! It takes a little "gumption" and there are some who see the need and will take the risk and DO SOMETHING! For those who can't muster the concern, maybe going through a ten year depression we are about to enter will wake them up! I don't want to be a citizen in the nation of wimps. I now belong to THE TEA PARTY NATION!!
