Tell Me Something!

This is NOT our house.  It's just an old farmhouse I liked.

Tell me something about yourself that I didn't know...

I'll start.

I grew up wanting to live in a couple kinds of houses.

One was a tri-level and a an old farmhouse.

We lived in a quad-level for four years.

It was in a subdivision.

Yuck and double yuck!

The farmhouse we bought in 1991 is HOME.

I guess you can see which I found that we liked better.

Now...tell me something about YOU!!

Since you started by talking about a house, I'll pick up that thread! I am far more attached to my grandmother's old house in Grand Rapids than my childhood home there. My grandfather built it in 1920. It is in terrible condition now; it's been a rental since the late 'sixties. My heart still holds it the way it used to look.

I never wanted to live in a tri-level, but lived in two! I always wanted to live in an old farmhouse, on lots of land, but never did. I did, however, have a house built, to look like an old farmhouse, and it is on a few acres.
I'm very happy with my home.
I've had people ask if the house is old, or just built to look old, so I guess it worked.

Years ago I lived in a farm house that was built on to before we moved there. I loved it. Now, I live in a subdivision that is slowly going down hill. I have a 3 bedroom modular home that I rent out. I no longer want to rent to others so I will be selling the home I live in and moving into the modular home. I just finished remodeling it. I will be happy there.

I have always wanted to live in house with a staircase, so that I could drape garland over the staircase at Christmas time. My husband and I have lived in 13 different houses since we've been married. Not ONE of them had a staircase . . . all ranch style homes. That's why I wanna move ONE MORE TIME!!!!!

I hate to travel. The only way is in the motor home. My own bed and bathroom.
I love our home of 43 years. I love everything about it. It is 100 years old. We are the 2nd couple to own it. The first couple built it. And built it well.
Joni you and I have a lot in common. We have some of the same things. I see them in your blog.
Have a great holiday. judy j

I grew up in government housing after my parents divorced. I used to walk down tree lined streets in the town where we lived looking in windows of large, 2-story Victorians, and imagining what it would be like to live in houses like that with families. Today, I have my own home like that with my own family. God sometimes gives us the desires of our heart, and tho this was mine I've found many more things of greater value. But I'm amazed that HE remembered! :D

I always wanted to live in a barn it was a dream of me and my husband. When we would dream about it in our first years of marriage he drew of the plans. About 5 years ago our dream became a reality. God is so good! My husband is a pastor so we have lived in a lot of houses and apartments some good some not so good but we learned to be content in all circumstances.

For years we lived in a subdivision and I loved our home. It was where our children grew up. We then decided to buy a little larger home and were right next to neighbors. You could hear them talking, coughing, barking dogs, and lawn machinery going constantly. We finally bought a home with 3 acres and are very, very happy here. Most times it is so quiet and peaceful all we hear is a distant train whistle. We could never live in a close subdivision ever again.

I have always thought it would be great to live in a farmhouse. To me that signifies a real family home.

We have moved around a lot with my husbands job. I love to move and start over. We are older now and I still would like to move one more time. Something much smaller and easy to care for would be great.
