Is It Monday Again?

Levi Jack
One week

So.
Happy (official) first day of summer!
I thought you might like an update on this little guy.
He's a content baby.
He nurses well.
He has gained back everything from his post-birth weight loss and then some.
Mommy is doing well, but she has had quite an issue with her shoulder and is still struggling with getting that straightened out.
We are making regular visits to the chiropractor...
We think it all started with nursing and the odd positioning that is required when you try to nurse sitting up in a hospital bed for almost three days.
It happened to me, too, and I can't tell you how much this hurts, it's like a stabbing pain in the shoulder blades that is constant. It's worse than any pain associated with the post-birth period.

In spite of all that, Levi stays awake and cluster feeds in the evenings and has slept three, then four, then five hours in a row his first week home. Mom and dad are pleased but should probably expect a deviation from this sleep pattern every now and then. *Ü*

And, yesterday was Father's Day and my husband and two sons made the trip from Michigan to see the baby; they had a safe trip and for that we're thankful. It was priceless when Pawpaw gave me my first hug in a month and then held his sweet little grandson for the first time. The uncles immediately fell in love with this little guy, too!

We all had a "getting to know you" session with Levi (with lots of cameras!) and then sat down to a Father's Day meal fit for a pig....slow-baked, then bbq'd baby back ribs and baked potatoes, biscuits and corn.

I am planning to enjoy my last week here with this little man...
and of course our time with our daughter and son-in-law.

Mommy looks a little exhausted but is so happy (and beautiful!).

I love how little Levi studies his mom's face with his little frown of concentration as he listens to her when she talks!

It's soooo HOTTTT here in Alabama, today supposed to be nearly one hundred on the thermometer and with the heat (and humidity!) I'm sure it will take us to at least the feel of 110!

I hope this Monday after Father's Day finds you all well?

Enjoy every minute with this precious bundle (even with that crazy heat)! Grandchildren are a wonderful gift from God; it just gets better and better.

He's a doll baby! I can't get over all that hair. My friend (who has a 6 month old) had the same back problem and it was caused by nursing (or the position anyway). She too is seeing a chiropractor. Hope all turns out okay. Enjoy that baby!

Oh, he is too cute for color TV! I love the big yawn; it perfectly describes Monday's! It was 103 degrees in Fredricksburg, VA on Thursday, and HUMID!! I hope little Levi didn't get heat rash. Jamie makes a beautiful Mama and I wish I could have seen Papaw, Uncles Mark and Luke as they laid eyes on Levi for the first time...
