When my husband and sons got here the other day, he gave me a hug and a kiss and told me that he brought me some pictures. Now wasn't that sweet? He knew I'd want to see how my flowers were doing. And I can see that he took care of them quite well.
In between all the runs to and from school for our son, to and from basketball camp, and to and from his job, cooking meals, doing laundry, taking care of pets, and trying to fit in the lawn-mowing between all the rains, he thought I'd like to see how things were going back at home.
I so much appreciate that about him, all those little things he thinks of that are just plain sweet.
Just the fact that he was willing and encouraging me to leave and go stay with Jamie all that time, when he knew it could be a month before I'd be back home, he said "Go, be with Jamie, you won't want to miss it."
And he was right.
I'm so glad I didn't miss it, although Jamie went so fast I almost did miss getting to the hospital on time!
This gal is so glad he was willing and selfless enough to let me go, I know it was hard to be a single dad for a while.
When I left the garden wasn't yet planted, this garden now has a brand new fence, and look at those rows of potatoes now!
And it looks like I might have missed the peonies blooming, maybe they'll hang on a little while longer!
And, when I left, the blooms were on the strawberries, and the tiny berries had formed on the raspberry bushes. Now look! The raspberries are ready, the strawberries by now are done and won't be back until next year.
Life is good... both here and at home.
And, soon, I shall be back.

A very loving and kind husband! Love the neat garden fence and the beautiful flowers and berries. Life is sweet for you, even though you must be homesick.
You are blessed!
Your flowers are beautiful...just gotta love Michigan weather (at least in the summertime!).
So I was out of town and YOU became a GRANDMA!!! Congratulations! Levi is just precious!
So glad to hear that you were able to be there for his arrival and to share this joy with your daughter!
As I now have an official due date scheduled (3rd c-section), my mom is also making plans to get off from work to be with my little ones for day! Nothing like having to be at the hospital at 5:30 am for Pre-Op...that just wouldn't be pretty for the 5 and 3 year olds!
Can't wait to see more pics of this handsome babe!
Blessings,
Val
You have a great place to live and call home!
Pictures are great.
Oh gosh, every time I visit your blog, I miss the mountain. I think I mentioned our mountain house that we currently just use for vacationing and weekends, etc.,but my dream is to live there full time. I almost ache for that day. Soon, I hope! Your blog makes me teary-eyed. Lovely post once again.
Hubby is taking great care of things at the homestead! And you are making memories right now!
What a wise hubby; he knows you've missed him, Luke, Mark, the grandpups and your own pets and flowers. Even though it surely will seem next to impossible to leave the new family in Alabama, you'll be glad to get home to your own bed. Or, at least that will make it bearable to leave Alabama!
