How Much Is That DOGGIE in the Window?

A vintage mohair bassett hound with sawdust stuffing...Fifty cents! He looked so sad, I couldn't leave him at the Salvation Army!

This "doggie in the window"was $2.50 and he's being added to my vintage toy collection! I found him on St. Patty's day on our antique store/thrift store trip: the deal of the day. My younger sister had one like it when she was little; this one is dated 1965 and is called "Little Snoopy".

Someday, when I get around to it, I'm going to have a guest room all bright and happy with primary colors, maybe with a Dick & Jane theme, with vintage children's toys and books lining the walls on shelves. I can't wait, simply because it'll be FUN (and a grandchild magnet to be there whenever I'm blessed with a grandchild!) and mostly I collect books or toys that my husband, myself or my kids had or would have played with.

I remember those doggie toys!! :) That room sounds so very fun!! When we move to our "forever" house, I would love to go all out and do a play room for the kids like that. Holly Hobbie, Raggedy Ann and Andy...etc... :)

I keep collecting vintage nursery stuff so my guest room will have to be a nursery with a full size bed too. I had Holly Hobbie stuff when I was little. It was my favorite! I named my daughter Holly and she was NEVER into Holly Hobbie, sigh.......

They are adorable!!! I too had one of those pull toys at my grandmothers to play with when I was a little girl. Love them!

These are too cute. I think Dick and Jane would be fun and of course you'd have to find an old school desk, too.

What cute little pups you have added to your home. The idea of a Dick and Jane guest room is adorable.
