Cool Ice Cube Trick

How to get a sunny-side-up egg or a hard-cooked one
without trying to turn it.

Just cook the egg to white, and then to set the yolk,
throw in an ice cube.

Then...

Throw on a lid.

Cook until it's to your liking.

The steam from the ice cube does your work for you!

(**Do not use this method in a cast iron pan, it may crack!  Water will do the same trick.**)

Today my preference was halfway between...

It's ready to go!

Eggs!  Nature's most perfect food!

In the words of Doctor Seuss...

Would you like them
here or there?

Would you like them
anywhere?

How do you like YOUR eggs?

Just don't use an ice cube in a cast iron pan! :) A small amount of water does the same trick....and you can use hot water in hot cast iron. :)
Sure missing eggs here....we started a Vegan diet...but will use eggs occasionally. :)

This is great to know. I keep thinking of the way I will cook my first egg from the hens. I will file this method away. Thanks.

My favorite eggs are the ones right from my hens, Lucy Ricardo and Carolyn Appleby. The babies Helen Crump and Thelma Lou have just started laying, and their eggs are the cutest little things I've ever seen! I always cook mine over, somewhere between easy and hard. Come visit my blog sometime to see photos of my hens and roosters; they're so much fun! Best regards from Windy Hollow Farm here in NC!

Eggs are wonderful. Scrambled, over easy, hard boiled. All good.

Oh my, will have to be quick with that ice cube to keep from getting popped but it sounds like it could be done.

How do I like my eggs? Sunny side up, over easy and as one of the ingredients in pancakes, preferably Baby German or Swedish, or cookies or ??? :)
