I am Nostalgic for ... Sam's Country

I just thought I'd share one of my vintage school books with you today.  I get lost in the pictures in this one. Totally lost.

I collect these sort of books, and I can tell you why I love them so much.  It's because they take me back to the way things used to be in this country.

Sometimes I get unspeakably sad when I think about where Sam's Country is being taken, and how so much of what she is made out of is being snatched away.

Do you ever feel that way, too?

YES! I a heart sick. My mom said the 50s were the best decade ever. Wholesome, you knew your place was in the home and took pride in that. But yes this country I fear will never turn back. When you hand out freebies to half the country, you will never lose an election again.

Totally agree with you. We are just sick at all that we see happening. Whatever will it be for our Grandchildren?

Very sad indeed. I was born in 1945 and had a delightful childhood, one that was free of fear and full of the true American spirit.

I agree with you...the USA unfortunately is not the same as it was 30 or even 40 years ago... I feel bad for kids today who will suffer and pay the cost...makes me glad I don't have children sometimes. All we have to do now is to study history of other countries to see our future.

Love the photos...I must look for one!
Did you hear Dr. Ben Carson at Nat. Day of Prayer? On Hannity? You must listen!!!! Google both, very easy to find. Just ordered his book. Hoping "God grabs him by the collar" (what he said would have to happen for him to run in 2016!!)
