Moss Roses

Moss Roses...

They love heat, and they can take it dry...

And this has been the perfect summer for my moss roses...

They help me remember my grandpa...he always had moss roses growing by his front sidewalk and they always intrigued me with their bright and happy colors.

My grandmother's favorite outdoor flowers! (She kept little pots of violets indoors.) I plant these every summer, and I always think of her when I see them. I enjoyed this post so much. Lovely summer memories of times past...

I love them too and you are so right. They do so well almost any weather. They look so good in your container. That's a sweet memory of your your grandpa.

I love Moss Rose. Each year just as I think they aren't coming back, they make their slow little peeks thru the soil. It's very HOT here in FL and they seem to be able to live thru it.

Very pretty!I love the bright colors...I am not sure they would do so well in the Pacific NW, with our more moderate climate---I will have to check.
Blessings,
Aimee
PS: I'm not sure if you have noticed, but your copyright date to my left needs to be changed:)

Joni, when I was Iowa a couple weeks ago, I had to stop and take pics of a yard that was 5% GRASS AND 95% MOSS ROSES! It was so pretty, I couldn't help myself to stop taking pictures, so many colors too!
