Back Roads Beauty: Another Frosty Morn

Snow plus a hoarfrost and a temperature at zero equals a crystal world.

It's a delicate and quiet world, this icy one.

All the landscape is accented with the heavy coating of frost, making something your eye might skip over and ignore the day before something to stop and take notice of.

And then when the exploding yolk of our yellow sun gets higher in the sky it lends a glow to my small part of this great big world and sets off a symphony of colors on a landscape--that was moments ago an icy colorless white--with its golden sheen showing off pinks and yellows.

Yes, winter, you can leave any day now, but I will be glad to recall your sparkling and silent glassy mornings.
