Worth Repeating: Yurtles Imitate Turtles!

Welcome to Mt. Rolo.

It's a great place to be.

Full of chocolate and caramel.

YUM!

With pretty foil covers.

These remind me of tiny little bells. Christmas bells.

I've posted this before, but it's worth repeating.

(I've posted this before, but it's worth repeating.)

I repeat myself.

(I repeat myself.)

Heh.

And here's the salty, and combine that with the Rolos of Rolo Mountain, and OH! MY!

(Is your mouth watering yet?!)

(If you're wondering why I repeat myself, it's because I tend to stick to the same goodies each Christmas season; I figure if it works and everyone likes it, then it becomes "tradition" and the benefit is that the same shopping list tends to work each year, then my Christmas baking season won't throw me any curves. I don't like curves. Unless I'm driving! I will try new goodies every now and again. If it's a hit, it gets added to the list.)

And here are the beautiful pecan halves...

For the nut in you!
(I know I come by MY nutiness honestly, there are several in the family tree!)

Put Rolos, round pretzels and pecans all together and what do you get?

YURTLES!

Yurtles imitate Turtles, they're just easier.

(And fun to do with kids.)

Kids love to peel the Rolos and help lay the round pretzels out in rows, and put the Rolos in the centers (upside down).

You can press the nuts into the melty, squishy chocolate/caramel when they come out of the oven.

Let them set up and you're ready to place them into tins to keep or give for Christmas gifts!

(Bake on a cookie sheet covered with foil or parchment paper in a 350 degree oven for 3-5 minutes.)

Mmmm.....

Around here, salty and chocolate combined seem to be a pretty good bet -- that everyone is going to love them.

It's all good when you start at Mt. Rolo.

Do you have NUTS in your family TREE?

Merry Christmas!

XOXO
Joni

PS: Even if you ask, I won't tell you how many Rolos I ate whilst peeling them. I did walk four miles this morning, so I figure I'm good.

Oh, boy, do those look good! One of my friends makes some concoction with saltines and chocolate and butter and brown sugar - it sounds dreadful but they are so good they are positively addictive! That whole sweet and salty thing is wonderful.

My sister & I are getting together this weekend for a major family cookie bake. I'm looking forward to trying these.

Just a short note to let you know how much I enjoy the music on your sidebar. I was printing the recipe when the mistletoe and holly by ol' blue eyes came on -- and I was transported years back. I haven't heart that song in ages!

Oh I hate your right now.

THESE LOOK SO GOOD!

All the kids are down, Joel is gone and I have PMS with the BIGGEST sugar craving EVER! It's like Mother Hubbard around here in the sweets department... the best I could do is dump the sugar bowl down my throat and that just doesn't sound very good.

Bah- humbug.
