Oh, Glory!

We had some exceptional weather this weekend: sunny and bright. Relatively warm: high thirties. Since Saturday was time to wash bedding....

The conditions were right.

I decided to hang that bedding out, a sure sign of an approaching spring.

(Just look at that SUNshine!)

Snowstorm today, but for a few days anyway we could imagine spring lurking around the next corner, and we all enjoyed it while it lasted.

I hung out three loads of sheets and a few quilts after they'd had about twenty minutes in the dryer, and it was pure heaven sinking into those sheets that night.

Something so simple as those white sheets gently waving against the winter blue sky with the snow for a backdrop and the sun as the lighting made me want to take my camera out and get a shot...

It's just too bad you can't smell them, too.
Next time you get a chance, sleep on sheets that have been kissed by the oh-so-crisp winter breeze...

it will surely make you feel very rich,
in all the right ways.

Tell me, do YOU like to hang laundry on the clothesline?

SCENIC SUNDAYS: February Sunset

Here's a picture from my back door one night this week.
I especially like the sun's rays reflecting on the snow in the field.
We've seen four days of sunshine this week....almost miraculous!
(We've had a mini taste of spring!)

Oh, and Luke took this picture-- I put the camera into his hands and said, "Go shoot that sunset, it's beautiful.

This is what he came back with. It's my desktop screen saver now.

It's STORY TIME! Jim Jump

Today our vintage story/picture book is "JIM JUMP" by Betty Ren Wright.
Copyright is 1964.
This story is especially cute because it happens on a farm, and it looks like it happens in the best part of the spring time, when all the wild flowers are blooming. I hope you enjoy!

At the end of the story is a link to a real live filly: her name is Annie....she's so pretty, and she's famous in blog land. If you haven't already met, you'll love to learn about her.

So there it is, an adorable story in which there's a lesson and the illustrations all look as if they were done with crayon (love it!).

Little Danny (the little guy whom the book originally belonged to) decided he'd add his own coloring, but I love the book anyway.

Speaking of horses, have you seen Misha's beautiful new foal born in the fall? Misha's blog
'From My Front Porch in the Mountains'
is here and you can read all about the baby and how she's growing.

Misha lives in the mountains of Tennessee and her farm is just a picture. I enjoy seeing all the horses and kitties and beautiful dogs on their farm.

I thought of their new baby girl when I saw this book. Go on over, take a look!
The blog post for Friday is a video of the horses in the stable at Misha's place.
