I think it's too much milk or not enough egg. It was bland and when cooked my bread looked more like pancakes cooked on top of the bread than your picture or even basic French toast. I sadly wasted part of my evening and all these ingredients to just have to cook something else. When do you add the eggs and milk, and step 4 doesn't really make sense.
